[00:00:10] Speaker A: Hey there. Welcome to Arbor Digital Experiences. This is episode 14. This one's going to be a shorty. This is my first episode back from Berlin after being there in Adapt to. And I got a couple things that I want to talk about, both about the conference that just ended, as well as conference that is about Start, which is Adobe Developers Live, which everybody should know about, as well as a couple other things. One of them is another Adobe tool which doesn't have anything to do with Adobe Experience Manager, but it's cool nonetheless. And it's called Adobe Podcast and it just launched. It happens to have something to do with me because I frequently record podcasts in high noise areas and there's a super cool AI based filter that can make your voice sound like you're recording in the studio, even if you are on a mountain bike trail. So wanted to take a little bit to demo that. So just to give you guys a little bit of context. So in Berlin, at the Adapt to conference, at the beginning of the conference, the, the organizer and his opening slides ended up having a picture of me on a mountain bike on my podcast that I did when I was discussing the impending AM 6.6 or whatever Adobe Experience Manager 6 dot whatever running on JDK 17 ends up being called. But as a result of that, I got approached by just a ton of people saying, okay, hey, so you're here in Berlin. I mean, A, did you ride your bike here? And B, are you going to do a podcast while you're here on a bike? And I'm like, okay, fine. I mean, a, no, I, I can't ride my bike all the way here from America, but B, I'm totally gonna do a podcast. I'm absolutely gonna do a podcast on a bike. So I totally intended to rent a bike. My intention was to get myself a nice mountain bike and okay, here, trivia for you guys. If you don't know this about Berlin, first of all, one thing you should know is that Berlin is an absolutely glorious city to bike commute in. It's fabulous. There's separated segregated bike infrastructure on every major arterial, plus almost every secondary street. And it's safe. You can get anywhere at any time of day on a bike. It's just great. Even, even so, there's a bunch of times that I was riding home in the middle of the night and I totally felt safe at, at all times riding a bike. Uh, I, I, I, my hotel was about three miles away from the conference and I biked back and forth every day for, for five days. It was Fabulous. So, but at the conclusion of the conference I was like okay, I'm gonna rent a mountain bike. So here's the trivia for you. So the tallest point in the city limits of Berlin is actually a man made mountain or hill. It's called the Teufelsberg and it's created from when in the after World War II and where, where the city was attempting to clean up and get back on its feet after World War II. The there was just unbelievable amounts of rubble. And so the only thing that they could think to do with it at the time was to go and put it in one place. And so they ended up taking literally hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of dump truck loads of rubble, post war rubble, and dumping it all in two different places which are now the two of the tallest points in Berlin. So it's basically the only place you can go mountain biking in Berlin is this, is this place where afterwards the allies ended up building a whole radio, a radar listening post to listen in on on Soviet communications and so forth. That's now decrepit. But you can go mountain biking there. That was my intention except for I couldn't find a mountain bike to rent. So I ended up renting one of these rattletrap bike share bikes and I ended up on a 38 mile loop going all the way out to the Grunwald which is where I end up riding up the Teufelsberg anyway on a bike share bike and, and, and then ended up finding a quiet place in the middle of the woods where I wouldn't weird people out and, and record a podcast. However, the bike was so rattly the basket rattling, everything rattling that you can't even hear the voice over it. However, now that this Adobe podcast version two came out, I was intending to say okay, I'm just going to release a podcast anyway with that tooling and see it does the job. So that's going to be the conclusion of this. But first I want to talk just for a second about Adobe Developers Live. Adobe Developers Live Adobe Developers live is on November 12th all day. Usually it's a conference that is online only. There's a number of sessions that are developer centric that that are done. This year is totally different. This first time they're doing it as a hybrid conference, so they're doing it actually live at Adobe hq. So you can go there if you want. Tickets I think are 500 bucks to go there, but it's free online. There's a number of really awesome sessions that are planned for that. I if you are in the Adobe developer world, meaning you develop on AEM on Edge Delivery services, on AIM as a cloud service on Adobe Commerce. Absolutely. Try to block off some time for that because one of the best things too about blocking off time, yes, of course all the recordings are going to be online also, but you're going to have questions and the mo. The best way that I get value out of these conferences is by asking questions directly of some of these brilliant people who are going to be speaking, some of whom are going to be so Lars Trailhoff's going to be giving his perspective on lessons learned from now a year that Edge Delivery services have been out. His panel discussion at Adaptu was one of the more insightful discussions that I've ever really kind of witnessed on this subject in terms of really being able to select the best tool for the job. Because AEM is an amazing tool, AM Cloud service is an amazing tool, Edge Delivery is an amazing tool and you just should know about the philosophies that are involved in each one of these things. So you can, as a developer or as an architect, you can make decisions about them. So highly recommend going to that one. There's going to be sessions on learnings on running e commerce sites in Edge Delivery. There's one that I'm super interested on which is running forms, AM Forms on Edge Delivery because I've got some use cases for customers right now that they're used to running things on premise. Edge Delivery is a completely different thing. What if you need to be able to talk to backend databases? There is a. There are a lot of gotchas when it comes to running forms and a lot of customer data out on the edge as well as some AM Cloud Service DevOps enhancements. Talks is going to be super cool, so hope that you're going to enjoy that again. It's November 12th all day long and then additionally tomorrow there's going to be a recap on the discord channel, Adobe AM live discord channel on adapt 2, which I'll be on that as well. So there you go. Hopefully you get something out of Adobe Developers Live. And now I'm going to cut to this video that, that I cut in the middle of the Grunvald on on a Rattletrap bike share bike. I'll give you the before and after of of the original audio and then the filtered audio with the, with the original version. One of this podcast, which I tried to use last year at Adobe Summit but it wasn't smart enough, kept putting in these little AI artifacts where it would think that somebody was talking and put these weird noises into it. The new one is just uncanny. It's unbelievable. And for somebody like me who frequently records in a high noise area like while I'm flying through a four stone bike, it's pretty cool. So leave it to that. Hope to see you guys soon. [00:07:57] Speaker B: Hey, welcome to Arbery Digital Update from the Forest. I am Tad Reeves, Principal Architect at Arbory Digital and I'm in the middle of the Grunwald, which is a beautiful forest park in on the west side of Berlin. I am about, oh, I don't know, 15 miles or so outside of my hotel. I'm on a rattle trap of a of a bike share bike. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any bike share bikes that had any way of me clipping my GoPro to them. So we can't do my traditional front and back GoPro. [00:08:33] Speaker A: You just got to go and hold this thing. [00:08:35] Speaker B: But in any case, I'm heading back home tomorrow from from Berlin. It's been an incredible trip. I was looking forward to doing a whole update on on Adaptu on here while starting a bike, but fortunately for me I was already able to do a much better job of that with the help of Mihail and Marta, whom we recorded a podcast yesterday, so that. [00:09:04] Speaker A: Should very likely be up before before. [00:09:07] Speaker B: This particular one sees the light of day. But looking forward to getting home. For any of you who had some FOMO of sessions and insights and so forth from Adapt To, I would have a look at Adobe Developers Live, which is coming up in just a few weeks and for the first time it's going to be being held live as well as Hybrid Ramon out of Adobe San Jose Office. So if you missed Adapt to, you might want to be able to check this out here, but next time I check in with you, I'll be back. [00:09:43] Speaker A: In the United States and hope to. [00:09:46] Speaker B: See you guys soon.
